EdisonLearning

was launched in 1992 as an ambitious research and development effort. Its aim is to draw on all available scientific research on student learning and school success to create a new and innovative model of public schooling, capable of providing a world-class education to every child. The “Edison Project”, as it was known then, provided the foundation for all of the subsequent work of EdisonLearning which opened its first schools in 1995.

EdisonLearning aims to inspire students to think, learn, and succeed. We work with educators and communities to improve public schools and boost student performance, offering an extensive portfolio of academic services from curriculum choices to professional development, from staff recruitment to student behaviour, from community relations to enrolment, from compliance to technology. EdisonLearning’s real-world experience and practical knowledge is complemented by a research-based philosophy based on the Four Cornerstones™ of highly effective schools:

  • Top talent
  • Culture of engagement and aspiration
  • Demanding content and customized instruction
  • Achievement-driven management

Today EdisonLearning serves over 350,000 students in 24 states in the US and the United Kingdom, through 120 school partnerships.
