Taaleem-EdisonLearning was founded in 2009 to make a difference to the lives of young people in the Middle East. Committed to a research based and holistic approach to school transformation, Taaleem-EdisonLearning in less than 12 months demonstrated a remarkable impact on standards of achievement in all of its partner schools in Abu Dhabi.
What are the founding principles of Taaleem-EdisonLearning?
- Commitment to making a difference for students in the round – their emotional, social and moral as well as their academic development
- Provision of a world class education through consistent delivery of quality
- Recruitment and development of top talent both within our own team and in the schools with whom we partner to ensure sustainability
- Adherence to what good research and best practice tells us about the ingredients that impact most on student progress
- Commitment to a set of values which we model ourselves and nurture in staff and students
- Development of excellent working relationships with our clients (invariably government regulators) and with staff in schools
- Accountability to our clients for the progress of the students in our partnership schools
- Building capability within our partnership schools with the long-term objective of making them self-reliant
Taaleem-EdisonLearning’s work is underpinned by the ‘Taaleem-EdisonLearning Framework for Sustainable School Improvement’. This Framework has been specifically developed to meet the needs of the Middle East and contains strategies, tools and processes, which are based upon research based international and local best practice as well as social context and understanding.
At the heart is a relentless focus on:
Raising Student Achievement
Building Capacity
Promoting Heritage and Culture
coupled with an understanding of the importance of a values driven holistic model in which strands of work operate interdependently of one another.

The Taaleem-EdisonLearning Framework or 'TEL Biscuit' as it is more affectionately known, is a fundamental approach to school improvement, which ensures added values and impact in all of TEL's work.
